Longhirst Village lies 3 miles north east of Morpeth in the county of Northumberland, England. The B1337 road runs more or less north/south through the village which is strung along it from the Church (of St. John the Evangelist) in the south, to the war memorial in the centre and, at the north end, the Village Hall, bus-stops and pillar box. The civil parish of Longhirst extends 1 km to the west of the B1337 and 4 km to the east to take in Middlesteads and Potland Farm. Population is around 500 adults
